Caitlin Clark is reportedly considering a move to the emerging 3-on-3 Unrivaled basketball league after recently receiving a huge offer.
Despite her success in the WNBA, which saw a surge in viewership, ticket sales, and merchandise during its 2024 season, there are concerns about the league’s long-term profitability due to it still operating at a loss.
Clark has managed to secure several lucrative partnerships, including a deal with Nike, but the offer from Unrivaled could be too good to refuse. The new 3-on-3 basketball league, which is rapidly gaining popularity in the States, is reportedly willing to offer Clark significant equity in the business and a three-month salary over $1 million.

According to Sports Business Journal, the 22-year-old is leaning towards accepting the offer, with her decision unlikely to be influenced by her current team, as Indiana does not plan to stand in her way if she opts to join the Unrivaled project.
A source close to Clark outlined her new stance, telling the Journal: “[It] comes down to mental health, stress or playing ball –which she loves””She has not decided yet…there will be a spot for her if she wants it, but she will be paid for what she brings to the league, as much as a new league can afford… I think a few weeks we will know.”

The six-team league is set to kick off in the new year, and Clark’s decision is expected before then. Despite the growing hope for a positive response, the league isn’t assuming her participation.
A source informed the Journal: “Ultimately, they’re [Unrivaled] not applying pressure and just building the league, and hopefully she joins because if she does, it would have a dramatic impact in a positive way.”
“But they don’t even have a timetable on when that decision is coming. It’s like recruiting someone. It’s a decision that can go either way.”
“There’s only two answers. I think one way or another, any player that doesn’t play this year, I think once they see it, it’s just going to be hard not to want to join.”
