The legal battle between NFL wide receiver Stefon Diggs and reality TV personality Mulan Hernandez has escalated as Hernandez fired back at the allegations that she assaulted and attempted to extort millions from the Houston Texans star.
Hernandez, whose real name is Mia Jones, has now publicly denied Diggs’ claims, accusing the NFL wideout of trying to control the narrative before the truth is fully revealed.
Hernandez Alleges She Was the Victim of Assault
In a statement to TMZ, Hernandez claimed that Diggs was the one who assaulted her, leading to a concussion during a June 7, 2024, altercation at their shared residence.
“On June 7th, I was assaulted from behind by Stefon Diggs at our residence—an incident that resulted in a concussion,” Hernandez stated.
She further suggested that Diggs’ lawsuit was a strategic move to get ahead of her own claims.
“This is clearly an attempt to try and get ahead of the truth that is to come,” she continued. “I WILL NOT BE INTIMIDATED NOR SILENCED.”

Diggs’ Lawsuit: A Night of Chaos
Diggs filed a lawsuit in Harris County, Texas, on Wednesday, alleging that Hernandez and a friend, Brianna Mack, showed up at his apartment at 6 a.m. on June 7, 2024, after a night of partying.
According to Diggs’ lawsuit, Hernandez was allegedly intoxicated and began aggressively berating him, before engaging in destructive and violent behavior inside his home.
The lawsuit details the chaotic series of events, including:
- Smashing property – Hernandez allegedly slammed Diggs’ gaming console and damaged a $130,000 watch.
- Destroying his phone – She reportedly threw Diggs’ phone into the toilet.
- Physical aggression – She allegedly punched Diggs in the chest multiple times, while yelling, “I’m not going anywhere.“
Diggs, who is now rumored to be dating rapper Cardi B, claims he tried to diffuse the situation and never physically retaliated.
Accusations of Extortion and Contradictory Medical Claims
The lawsuit also alleges that Hernandez later tried to extort Diggs for money after the situation escalated.
While Hernandez initially sought medical attention on June 7, telling doctors she slipped on a wet kitchen floor, she later changed her story.
On June 14, Hernandez allegedly told authorities that she had been “punched in the back of the head with a closed fist.”
Furthermore, the lawsuit states that she later “refined her story”, claiming she had been living with Diggs and was five weeks pregnant when the alleged assault occurred.
Hernandez’s friend, Brianna Mack, signed an affidavit over 100 days later supporting Hernandez’s claims. However, Diggs’ legal team alleges that this was part of an attempt to build a case against him.

Diggs’ Attorney: “She Thought She Could Parlay This Into a Payday”
Diggs’ lawyer, Kent Schaffer, claims that Hernandez saw her short-lived relationship with the NFL star as a financial opportunity.
“Unfortunately, there are a lot of people out there who seem to think they meet a celebrity and that somehow they can get something out of it,” Schaffer told the Houston Chronicle.
“Because this woman had a short-term, mostly casual relationship with Diggs, she thought she could parlay this into a payday.”
Schaffer also added that many young athletes and entertainers become targets of women who attempt to manipulate relationships for financial gain.
“Diggs was trying to stay away from the drama, and unfortunately, he walked right into it.”
Diggs’ Legal Claims Against Hernandez
The Houston Texans star is now suing both Hernandez and Mack, citing multiple charges, including:
- Trespassing
- Intentional infliction of emotional distress
- Aiding and abetting a conspiracy
- Assault (against Hernandez specifically)
- Conversion (wrongful taking or destruction of property)

What Happens Next?
The case is now heading into a contentious legal battle, with both sides claiming to be the true victim.
If Diggs’ lawsuit moves forward, it could lead to further legal scrutiny on Hernandez’s claims, especially regarding her contradictory medical statements and alleged attempts at extortion.
With millions of dollars at stake, this high-profile legal fight is just getting started.
