Joaquin Niemann has expressed his desire to create a season schedule that includes events from LIV Golf, the PGA Tour, and DP World Tour.

After leaving the PGA Tour for LIV in 2022, Niemann was banned from the American circuit but has since found some of his best form, only being outperformed by Jon Rahm on the breakaway circuit in 2024. Despite his PGA Tour ban, Niemann has been able to compete on the DP World Tour and is set to defend his Australian Open title at Kingston Heath this week.

In light of his title defense, Niemann discussed the potential of competing across all three tours amid ongoing peace talks between those in charge of golf. While the 26-year-old admitted it wouldn’t ‘hurt’ him to continue not competing on the PGA Tour, he is eager to do so if given the chance.

“To be honest, I don’t think there’s many people that would want to play all over the world,” he told FOX Sports Australia. “They just want to play on LIV and that’s it, and there’s a few guys who probably just want to play on the PGA Tour and that’s it.

“For me, if I don’t play on the PGA Tour, I don’t think it would really hurt me a lot but I would like to play more.” Niemann added: “Ideally it would be awesome to play PGA Tour events. As captain of my team, Torque, I am playing LIV Golf and I would love to play those 14 events as well as a few events I love from the PGA Tour.”

Niemann, who triumphed at the Genesis Invitational in 2022 – an event hosted by Tiger Woods – expressed his desire to return. He added: “I love Riviera [host of the Genesis Invitational], The Players and if I could pick three or four events from the PGA Tour and play those, and then a few others on the DP World Tour, I would love to.

“Playing on LIV Golf and having the DP World Tour around – I played the Rolex series for the first time – was awesome, and if I can play those plus a few other events and the majors, I am happy.”

After clinching victory in Australia last November, Niemann made a comeback to the DP World Tour in January, securing a tied-fourth finish at the Dubai Desert Classic. His impressive performance continued as he won two of the first three LIV events, which led to an invitation to the Masters.

In 2024, Niemann participated in three out of the four major championships, missing out on the U.S. Open, yet he had the honor of representing Chile at the Olympic Games in Paris. Niemann subsequently secured second place in LIV’s season-long individual rankings, before making a comeback to the DP World Tour for the year-end playoffs in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, ultimately ranking 25th in the Order of Merit.
